Hey there, Howdy! I had a pretty cool business meeting this week, that I had to travel for. It was at a place that rhymes with “Moogle”. LOL. And business meetings always make me think of 80’s movies, for some reason. Hence the title of this post. I love that song! It’s appropriate AND affirming. So…yay! They also make me think of the HORRIBLE workwear that women wore in the 80’s. I know, at the time, shoulder pads were all the rage, and seemed to be the very HEIGHT of fashion, but….sheesh. Let all admire shall we?
(Oh Ms. Crawford – how COULD you? ;-))
If you have seen any of my other outfit posts, you might have noticed that I do enjoy menswear inspired fashion. It makes me feel comfy and professional. Thankfully, in the last few years, Menswear inspired fashion doesn’t mean that you look like a Man – if that is not the look you are going for. I have also been able to find some really stylish AND affordable pieces. Which is ALWAYS a plus! Like this ruched sleeve blazer from Walmart’s Time & Tru collection! It’s a perfect length, and the sleeves hit me at just the right spot. The one disappointing thing is that the pockets aren’t really “pocket’s”, and I keep trying to put my hands in them! That aside, I think that this is definitely going to be a staple for me this fall and winter. I can already see this paired with a mustard yellow shirt, or over a cute LBD…oh the possibilities!
